The Last Good Movie we Watched:

A powerful story that shows the pain that comes from a broken family and how they eventually find forgiveness. Beautiful.

May we Suggest these Children's Books:

What a wonderful and surprisingly warm and funny story! Clever and well-written, our children listened to this story back to back because it was so thoroughly entertaining! You will not be disappointed!

Don't shy away from this one!

The Errant Knight is a great picture book, especially for boys, that illustrates the many ways one can serve and please his king.

Come On Seabiscuit!

A wonderful book based on the true story of Seabiscuit, an underdog thoroughbred horse, who, against all odds, becomes a champion. Easily and thoroughly enjoyable for adults and children alike, this book will leave your children cheering for more each night!

An Enchanting Story...

Now you know we couldn't let a summer pass without reading one of E. Nesbit's wonderful tales. So, this summer we chose to read The Enchanted Castle, both the story and illustrations (by Paul. O Zelinsky) were never a disappointment. Do yourself a favor and read this to your children:)

Five Little Peppers by Margaret Sidney

Morning Glory:

Really, anything written by Robert McCloskey is a joy to both the heart and mind!

A Sleeper Hit:

The sequel to Old Yeller, Savage Sam keeps EVERYONE on the edge of his seat as it details the harrowing adventures of Travis, Arliss and their neighbor's daughter, who have been kidnapped by a tribe of Apaches. Not recommended for a young or sensitive audience.

Great Book based on a True Story:

Wonderful picture book that tells the heroic and true tale of William Tell.

Now That You've Put the Kids to Bed...

Here are some movies we highly recommend.

Based on a True Story:

Brilliant. Period. The casting was perfect and the story is riveting - one we need to be reminded of. Don't miss this one.

A Classic Retold:

I don't typically go around promoting Disney films but this is one beautiful film (inside and out) I don't mind doing so. You will easily fall in love with the splendor and magic of this film! And the fact that is has a distinct and positive moral for young girls is just icing on the cake.

A Sobering Biographical War Drama:

Richard wasn't crazy about it but I admired it...

An Incredible True Story:

You know I love these kind of movies...

A Noble Biblical Drama

Some people had problems with this film, and others were quite impressed with this cinematic feat. I had a couple of issues with it, but the story and acting were both strong enough to allow for the enjoyment of the movie as a whole.

A Big Surprise:

I was surprised by this movie as it took on themes that are largely ignored in children's films and it was just plain entertaining. Although, I would not recommend it for sensitive young viewers.

Richard's Favorite Films:

An old foreign film that slowly wins your heart through the appetite.

You May Not Have Heard of This One:

An beautiful little indie film that is not insignificant.

Hold On...

Okay this film may be one of the most captivating and sobering films I have ever watched. With that said, there are scenes in this film that are particularly bawdy but that only brings about the beauty of the power of forgiveness more acutely. Ultimately this film orchestrates an incredible and intricate story of innocence stolen, betrayal, forgiveness and redemption, and how the strength of forgiveness can bring about a conversion. This film is a cinematic force unparalleled.
