Once Upon a Time...

Not too long, in a town not too far away (if you live in another country, then, well, it IS far away... very far away) we threw a baby shower for one of our friends.  The theme was like the bundle in her belly: a sweet little one.  To be more specific, it was a storybook theme.  Many people traveled from all over the land to share kind words and give sweet baby things.  With fun games and good food, a grand time was had by all. It was indeed a charming affair.

Here we have a front entrance wreath made from pages of a children's fairy tale book.

This is the table before we piled it high with goodies to munch on.

Okay, so the lighting is not great but y'all get the idea.

And here's the cake before I added the decorations.

And after... ( again, not the best lighting)

I used the "Guess How Much I Love You" book to introduce one of the games where you had to take yarn and, guessing how big her belly was, cut a piece of yarn to size.

I made these little story book signs to go with certain dishes.

Mozzarella stuffed mushrooms, mmmm!

Turkish Delight (not made by me - but the sign, I will take credit for, now THAT was hard work!)

Sweet girl goes straight for the sweet Turkish Delight.

I made a "Treasure Island" tag for the gift table. I thought that was pretty brilliant.  Just saying.

As party favors, I made biscotti and tagged them with "The End".

The End

Easter Sweetness and Beyond

As we celebrated the Ressurection of our Lord, the kids uncovered an obscene amount of sweets and Augustin embodied that sweetness entirely by his reaction to said myriad of goodies and treats that seemingly came out of nowhere!

This is what happens when I ask Augustin to smile.

Cute.

Cuter.

Cutest.

Oooh...

Oh boy!

Bingo!

And for a special treat, I made these Italian Peaches for Easter dessert.  Can you find the sweetest peach in the picture???

Here is a cute foxy cake I made for my Godson'd birthday.  It is a 3-layer buttermilk chocolate cake with white chocolate frosting.  It was delicious but so hard to eat such a cute thing!

Here's another cake I made.  I know nothing of Minecraft but I do know this is cute:)

Speaking of cute...

here are Gwen and Oreo, Mila's latest litter.  She sold Oreo but couldn't bring herself to...

sell Gwen.  Be still my little heart!

In April we had a visit from Grandma and Grandpa.

I love this shot.

Richard took the boys fishing one afternoon in April...

My two cowboys.

May the Birthday Force be with You...

Ezra turned 9 in March. He wanted a Star Wars theme and, as I am a Star Wars Neophyte, I went with what little I did know: Chewbacca.

Here is the gang drinking some Yoda Soda (Lime Sherbert mixed with Lemon Lime Soda).
Very delicious, it was.

Puzzle Time...often confused with Giggle Time.

Not to be outdone, Richard and Ezra exercised their crafty capabilities and made a Death Star pinata:

Waiting in line to give it a good whack!

Like the Light Saber? Augustin was so cute!

A good time was had by all!
